BLM Creative Works is now the home of various pieces of my creativity. It’s a central hub for my writing, marketing, communications, content services, and other creative projects. I believe that outlets serve a purpose and are avenues to show and grow my work and interests outside of the 9-5.
Showing up for a minimum of 5 out of 7 days a week for an employer, whether it fits the 9-5 or a more flexible remote structure, can become a wash, rinse, and repeat cycle. I am grateful for my current job and any prior position that I’ve held, some more than others. Each of these posts had its place and season. My personal goal is not to lose my identity in the daily cycle. I don’t want to miss my anointed path by racking up steps on a stationary wheel. Like the average employee in America, my job takes up most of my time, even after working hours. When I allow work stress to take up a mortgage in my head, its effects go beyond waking hours. My birthday was on September 12, and starting a new birth year is an annual reminder that every moment, every second is precious. I must make them count.
My dream of writing a bestseller that transitions to the screen isn’t a new concept, but it’s one of many visions I’d like to see come to fruition. I’m not a fan of societal boxes, and I hope that my life and work will be a testament to that. I am a self-published author who also wants to grow her freelance business in communications and content creation services. BLM Creative embodies this goal. It is a space I want to nurture and expand.
Here’s to a new birth year focused on personal and professional growth, opportunities, taking chances, being vulnerable, and developing Brandi Lei Morrison in the process.
